Great music video

Here is a great musical rendering of John 6 in Music and picture.
The Song is called “I Believe” by Brian Flynn, the son of Vinny Flynn, author of "Seven Secrets of the Eucharist."

License plates

In Indiana (here's a news article about this one) we saw their fairly new plates.  The plate frame reads "This Car Brakes for Quilt Shops."

We saw this Tennessee Plate in Kentucky, I got to talk to its owner. Tennessee Right to Life had quite a time getting this plate through. Even their governor turned it down at first saying that a Choose Life plate was too political!  You can read more here and here.

Both plates survived a court battle by the ACLU.  I thanked the folks from Tennessee for their work.  They were a joy to talk to.

Back home

It was a great vacation, actually.  It's changed, though, as the boys have grown.  Their talent of picking out a luxury/fast car going down interstate at 70 mph is amazing.

I was thrilled to be able to attend a Solemn Mass and Procession at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.  Once again, with this plan, I heard "Why do we have to do this?" and when it was over, they thought that even this was a pretty cool idea.

It's a big Basilica.  It's the 8th largest religious structure in the world.

Look close!  See the image of Jesus behind the Tabernacle?

As we were there for the Feast Day of the Body & Blood, there was a Procession after Mass.  The Procession carried the Blessed Sacrament from the main church to the crypt church.
It was heavenly to kneel on the front steps of the church for Exposition.  It was an amazing experience to be there with so many others, too.  There are many chapels throughout the crypt, a great gift shop and bookstore.  So much to see, I bought the book.

The trip so far

It's always kind of an adjust traveling with everyone, all together, in a Malibu for 13 hours a day.  But, I guess that's what memories are made of.  And, it's an opportunity to pray for grace, and to practice redemptive suffering!

This morning we drive into DC and get to stay in one place for a few days.  The Solemn Mass starts at noon, I hope we get a front pew!

I've been reading The Rosary Workout and will have much more about that book later.  I'm actually thinking this whole exercise might be good for me in more ways than one!

What you get when you travel with boys

That guy owns a BMW and has a crappy house.

Oh well, at least his priorities are straight.

Vacation

We're leaving in the morning for a much-needed vacation.  I'll occasionally post from the road.  I am very looking forward to a Solemn Mass & Procession at the National Shrine on the Feast Day of Corpus Christi.  I'm hoping for a front-row pew!

New EWTN show

Be on the look-out for a new show on EWTN.  Johnette Benkovic has been hosting The Abundant Life for many years, I've learned a lot from her broadcasts.  Her radio show, Women of Grace, is also interesting.

Johnette is the author of Full of Grace, Women and the Abundant Life book and foundational study.  She has been through some amazing trials, and still strives to teach Catholic women about living the feminine genius.

Johnette's broadcasts have evolved into a daily TV show titled, Women of Grace.  It airs Monday-Friday at 10:00 am, it's rebroadcast at 10:30 pm.  According to the website, Women of Grace will still air on EWTN radio at 10 am.

If you don't have Catholic radio in your area, you can listen via the internet at ewtn.com.  Sirius or XM radio also carry EWTN radio.  You can watch for podcasts, also at ewtn.com, click on Libraries.  Johnette's website is http://www.lhla.org/ where you can watch TV episodes online!
